Haha thanks for the tag! I'm not a pro, though.

Spidey, you can use Photoshop and(or) GIMP and google some tutorials on how to use them efficiently.
Most people also use Illustrator as you can create vectors will Illustrator.

Google is your friend. Tutorials/Download links/ everything is available there and if you want me to send you the link, I'll pm it to you as I don't think I'll be allowed to post it here.
