ok then the main points shuld be this :

i disagree that there was no significant progress during the second world war,as some events did lead to progress towards independence to a certain extent.

1)day of deliverence, coz it showed that muslims were not having common ground with hindus.
2) pak resolution clear cut picture of muslim aims as they would only settle for independent state.
3)cripps mission no progress coz all rejected it ,, progress coz it recognized the importance of minorities.
4)quit india resolution , no progress coz it lead to wide spread arrests. british realized it was time for them to leave india
5)GJ talks, progress coz they league was accepted at an equal ground of importance in subcontinent's future. no progress coz they ended in failure due to conflicting views, even the conflicting views showed how different both nations were.
6)simla conference , progress coz muslims were givin equal status as hindus, no progress coz it failed when congres demanded right to elect muslim and also resented muslims being given equal status.

so overall we can judge that most events failed, however they did lead to some progress in terms of widening the gulf between the 2 nations

is this the correct answer :??? if not then plzz correct it :)
