How far are Edexcel and CIE different?

Well,
As far as i am concerned, both of them have the same syllabus,it's different in very small notes and stuff
for Example In edexcel Biology there is something called "Quadrant" Which isn't there in the CIE Biology and about the A Levels i am not sure whether they have the same syllabus or not

what about in o'levels and IGCES; i think there must be some difference

there are some syllabus differences in edexcel for a levels, what i have heard is that u have no practicle exams but all theoratical in sciences
