LOOK YOUR OLEVEL COUNTS A LOT, IT COUNTS FULLY FOR OLEVEL EQUIVALENCE.YOUR ALEVEL EQUIVALENCE BASICALLY CONSISTS OF MARKS FROM 800 FROM OLEVELS ANDONLY 300 FROM ALEVELS.



SO OLEVEL BECOMES MORE IMPORTANT THAN ALEVELS. I KNOW THIS SOUNDS STRANGE THAT FOR YOUR ALEVEL EQUIVALENCE, YOUR OLEVEL MARKS ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT, BUT THIS IS HOW IT WORKS HERE. SORRY!!

look even with 997 in mcat out of 1100, my merit in mcat test was 404. So 403 students scored higher than me in mcat test. You never know what is good or bad. There are around 3000 seats in govt colleges in punjab. The best ones are in lahore with around maybe 700 seats or more plus minus 100. so you must have at least 86% aggregate to be absolutely sure. 84.5% is cut off point for lahore BUT THIS CAN VARY BY 0.5 TO 1%. USUALLY IT GOES ABOVE THAN GOING DOWN AS COMPETITION INCREASES EVERY YEAR.

Do this math first
calculate your olevel marks for 8 subs phy,chem,bio,eng,urdu,math,isl,pakst
with 90 for A*, 85 for A, 75 for B, 65 for C
add all ur A's, and A* etc as shown above
me (7A* and 1A) = 715

if you have given your exams in 2 sessions then deduct ten from total.
715-10= 705
THERE MUST NOT BE A GAP GREATER THAN 1 YEAR BETWEEN THE TWO SESSIONS. SO YOU CAN ONLY GIVE SOME SUBJECTS IN JUNE 2012 AND THE REST IN JUNE 2013. OTHERWISE IF YOU GIVE IN NOV 2013 THEN YOU MUST REPEAT YOUR JUNE 2012 (BECAUSE THE GAP BECOMES GREATER THAN A YEAR). IM NOT SURE (you must confirm it from IBCC, they make your equivalence) BUT I DONT THINK YOU CAN GIVE EXAMS IN THREE CONSECUTIVE SESSIONS BY DIVIDING YOUR 8 SUBJECTS BETWEEN JUNE 2012, THEN NOV 2012 AND THEN IN JUNE 2013

EITHER YOU GIVE ALL SUBJECTS IN 1 SESSION, OR IN 2 SESSIONS WITH A MAXIMUM OF 1 YEAR GAP BETWEEN THE TWO SESSIONS


divide your new total by 800 and multiply by 900
705/800 into 900 =793
you will get your olevel equivalence
mine was 793/900

for alevel equivalence ADD YOUR OLEVEL TOTAL FROM 800 NOT 900+ 3 subjects from alevel (same 90 for A*, 85 for A etc)
i had 3A* in alevel
like for me 705 + (3*90) = 975
this is ur alevel equivalence

now divide ur olevel equivalence percentage by 10, lets call the answer as O
88.11/10 So, O= 8.811


now divide your alevel equivalence by 1100 and multiply by 40, lets call the answer as A
975/1100 into 40 So, A = 35.45

Add O and A. Suppose the answer is T
8.811+35.45 So, T = 44.26

Substract the answer T from 86%. 86% is your FINAL AGGREGATE REQUIRED FOR ALLAMA IQBAL LAST YEAR . SERVICES WAS 84.5% I THINK (BUT AS COMPETITION INCREASES EVERY YEAR, LETS AIM FOR 86%)
86-44.26 = 41.73


Now divide the answer by 50 and multiply by 1100. This will tell you minumum marks) for next year that u must get in mcat
41.73/50 into 1100 = 918

so 918 are needed from 1100 in mcat

So this means that I can give 4 papers in November and 4 papers in June next year, and it wont cause a problem? Oh and one more question, why did you consider A as 85%, as the grade boundary for A is 80%, without any applied percentile?

Because IBCC says so that A is at 85

But Cie never sends your numbers or papers back to Pakistan, they only send back letter grades.

i know that is why they can give you maximum of 90% marks for your equivalence if you have all 8A*
even if you have 8 world distinctions, even then u will get 90% marks

680 divided by 800 into 900

=765 out of 900

maths is necessary if you want to do any course in canada (except literature and history). So u cant do medical in canda without maths in alevel. But medical in canda is long 8 years as uve to do premed first. Cost would be 100 lakh plus

i dropped maths in my first week although i had 95% in my olevel maths. Alevel math is pretty pretty hard and unless u have a general interest in it (dont give it). Drop it and focus on ur core 3 subjects. Get 3A* in them
