Ink pens or Ball points?

Title says it all. Should we use ball points or Ink pens? Someone just told me that ball points aren't allowed. Can anyone confirm?

I use Uniball,

Light blues arent appreciated and a lot of teachers recommend black because of their visibility after scanning but a teacher told memto use blue as black comes off a bit harsh to the eyes of an examiner.

Ink pens are too fussy to deal with.

i used ball points in O level and faced no problem

First of all Any pen is allowed until its blue or black
secondly, one should use Ball point rather than Ink pen because:
i) Their writing is smother
ii) They dont make a mess( ink)
iii) They dont need to be refilled
and lastly
iv) If a drop of ink, from ink pen, falls on your paper's Bar code, Your paper will be nullified

In M/J 12 i used ink pen for islamiyat and pak studies and scored A* in both mA!
In O/N 12 i used ball point for stats and accounts and scored A* in both mA!
