thanks for the quotes, they are quiet helpfulHonestly, I studied nothing regarding women, their relationship, rights etc. And I'm not quite sure whether it's part of our syllabus. But here are some points I've extracted through common sense about the importance of women in Islam:
-The first and most important point is their role as mothers. The fact that mother's are given the highest status after that of Allah. Can also quote Prophet(pbuh)'s Hadith here, 'Paradise lies at the feet of mothers'. also once a person asked the Prophet who deserves the best of care from him, the Prophet(pbuh) replied your mother (3 times) and then your father and relatives.
-Also women's important status as wives. The Prophet(pbuh) has said, "Fear Allah (SWT) in respect of women; and, the best of you are they who behave best to their wives; and, a Muslim must not hate his wife, and if he is displeased with one bad quality in her, let him be pleased with one that is good; the more civil and kind a Muslim is to his wife, the more perfect in faith he is."
-Also women hold great importance as daughters, as you can mention the wonderful relation between Prophet(pbuh) and his daughter Fatima. Also you can quote Prophet(pbuh)'s Hadith here, "Whosoever has a daughter and he does not bury her alive, does not insult her, and does not favour his son over her, God will enter him into paradise"
-Now I guess you can discuss a bit of the rights of women, that she has the right to own property, to claim in the property of her husband, already dead father and also her brother considering he is childless. Islam has also given women the right of inheritance which goes back to having a claim in the property of the father. And she is not a prisoner, she deserves respect and has the right to lie divorce if she's unhappy with her spouse.
-In the children bit, it can also be mentioned that she plays a big role in the upbringing of the child, and it's a woman's duty to look after h household.
-In the end you can mention Prophet's quote, "Whoever doeth good to girls, it will be a curtain to him from hell-fire.”
