Try to memorize quotations and references. I quoted almost 25-30 references in a single paper. Moreover, skip the Caliphs portion. Never attempt a question about Caliphs, cause there's a higher chance of deduction in that. Any further help needed, feel free to ask. :)

Attempting a question regarding caliphs can be really risky. Like a question: What were the main events between the caliphate of .....?
In attempting this, if you accidentally miss a single event, your marks will be surely deducted. If you don't give up to the mark details, your marks will be deducted. If you don't mention proper dates/eras, your marks will be deducted. If you don't write in a sequence, your marks will be deducted.
So it's safe to stay away from this sorta risk. :)

I agree to your logic but you see my teacher recommended me to learn about the caliphate of hazrat Abu Bakar and hazrat Ali,
anyways here is the first question to check plz when you check it mark according to the mark scheme and the question is
''Give an account of the events surrounding the Pledges of Aqaba and the main details in them''

You'll probably score 6-7 marks because:
-No references.
-No clear ending of the Visit of Taif. You need to mention how Prophet PBUH prayed for the people of Taif and how Jibril appeared etc.
Make sure you cover all these points:
Talk about the Prophet’s attempts to spread Islam outside Makka without success. After mentioning the event of al-Ta’if. write how he met six men in Makka, who had come from Yathrib for the annual pilgrimage. They became Muslim and returned to Makka the following year with more people (12) who took an oath at ‘Aqaba in 621 which is known as the First Pledge of ‘Aqaba. Musab bin Umair sent with them to teach them about Islam. The following year more people came to take the oath with the Prophet (70). They invited the Prophet to come to Yathrib as their leader. The Prophet told Muslims to start migrating. Initially the six men said they would go back and tell people about the Prophet. The first pledge had details relating to worshipping one God, not stealing, committing adultery, killing their children, not slandering or disobeying the Prophet. The second pledge was to listen to and obey the Prophet, to spend in plenty as well as scarcity, to enjoin good and forbid evil, fear no one but Allah and defend the Prophet if he needs it.
The best answers will be able to give details of the number of pledges, the number of Yathribites/Madinans involved and the names of some key figures, the main details of what was in the pledges, and an indication of the result of the pledges.

I would recommend against leaving any topics in Islamiyat. Do everything including Caliphs because if you are unable to attempt a question from any other topic and you can't attempt the Caliph's one either, you'll be in trouble. It is best to keep all options open and avoid risk.
If you want an A/A* in Islamiyat memorise as many verses as possible and quote them whenever and wherever possible. That is key.
Wish you guys the best!

I've given Islamiyat and scored an A. I completely skipped the Caliphs portions and did others perfectly. Moreover, references are the only way to succeed.
