Islamiyat - Differentiation between Quran as a source of Islamic Law, and Quran in Legal Thinking?

I know a bit about both of them, but then I'm not clear how they are different. All help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Significance of Quran in thought and action:
1. The Quran is Allah Final Message to humankind
2. It is the undisputed text for all Muslims
3. It contains the principles of all aspects Deen: Belief &
Practice.
4. It is the Furqan: Criterion between right & wrong
(Sura Furqan; 25:1)
5. It says that don’t who don’t decide by it are
unbelievers (Surah Maida; 5:44)
6. Its contains the Laws for all situations, Personal,
Financial, Criminal, Law Making
7. It is the 1st and invariable Source of Law (Hadith
Muaaz bin Jabal)

Whereas the use of Quran in legal thinking is the detail with examples to these points
