Remember the question asks :
find the total distance
travelled by Q from the instant it first reaches X until it returns to X.
hahah man you have done 99% of that question..but failed to obtain the right answer. The distance you calculated 0.4 metres is the distance the particle travels from X to its highest point. After that it will fall again, to the point X.(question demands of the time taken from leaving X and then coming back to X again.) So we will have to multiply it by 2.
So 2(0.4)= 0.8 metres.
Hope that Helps :D
Thanks Alot!!! :) :) Hehe..finally understood!! :p

can smone pls help me in oct/nov 10/43 no. 5? pls its urgent!
i)
F^2 = (27.5)^2 + (-24)^2
u will get F

to find alpha tanalpha = -(-24/27.5) not much to explain

ii) second question says that another force is 90 deg anticlockwise frm F which means it forms a right angle..just use pythagoras theorem and tan again but the angle u get is not the theta we want to find subtract alpha frm this and u get the angle wid x-axis..draw a sketch for dis one its easier dat way
