I just need some help with Surds and Trig.

First

_____________________________ (Question 1 )____________________________

Surds

3.(i)
Show that
(5-√8)(1+√2)=a+b√2
Giving the values of the integers a and b

(ii)
Show that
√80+30\5 =c√5
Where c is an integer

___________________________(Question 2 )_________________________

Trigonometry

8.(a)
Show that the equation
4sin2x + 9cosx - 6 = 0
Can be written as
4cos2x - 9cosx + 2 = 0

(b)
Hence Solve, for 0≤x<720°
4sin2x + 9cosx - 6 = 0
Giving your answers to 1 Decimal place

Thank you for reading

3(i)
(5 - √8)(1 + √2)
= (5 * 1) + (1 * -√8) + (5 * √2) + (√2 * - √8)
= 5 - √8 + 5√2 - √16
= 5 - 2√2 + 5√2 - 4
= 5 + 3√2 - 4
