Maths P2 Help !!

Hey its Oct/Nov 2001 P2

Question number one!.. i know how to do the whole thing, but i always get confused what to do with the result,
for ex.
if i got tanx=-1 limits are 0<x<360 (both equal sign but don't know how to write it)
x=-45
so then what should i do?
-45(-+)180 or 180(-+)-45?
and for 360/?

and if u can put the sinx part as well.. ??
plz help

Do you know how to settle the range and quadrants?

first take tanx=1 and evaluate the value of x=45
then see in which quadrant tan is negative definitely 2nd and fourth.
in order to go in 2nd and fourth you will adopt this procedure
for 2nd 180-x
for fourth 360-x
hence you will have your answer in the given range.

note: sign is only in which quadrant you will have to go. always find basic angle which is always less than 90 and only be achieved when you will not use negative sign while calculating its value from the calculator.

Its 2001 oct A2 paper! on my own practicing and if i wanted a concept "range quadrants" like you said i would have gone to internet,, but people come here to find simpler answers and give examples to understand!

The key word is "Helping" and not "Spoon Feeding". If we start doing that then you won't learn much.

But it's all up-to you.

Dear.
I do know what you have explained.
I also know that students are seeking /searching for getting theirs problems resolved conceptually as well
and in response someone has to deliver to satisfy them and also to gratify the website which utmost helped in this regard.

The word refrain actually is like an order which is definitely disliked and it protrude a negative affect to to the writer and reader as well.

My reasoning obviously eludes someone who has a pea sized brain and has a hard time completing a simple English sentence without making a complete fool out of himself.
