Need half a credit for As english, Which subject should i take

So i studied scottish higher english which i got a C in, this is equivalent to an As level, so apparently i had half a credit, there is advance higher english, but i cant study here further because im an international student and i need to 5000 per semester, so basically, i have opted for cie exams. I checked that cie doesnt offer A2 english, until 2014, What should i do to complete that credit? I heard from people over here that general paper is taken into consideration at all during enrollment, so which subject should i take? Please guide me thanks!
