ow really? coz i din study that :/
this is all the reactions i know of in blast furnace:
C + O2 = CO2
CO2 + C = 2CO
Fe2O3 + CO = Fe + CO2
CaCO3 = CaO + CO2
CaO + SiO2 = SiCaO3

Yes these are what you need to know about... Nibz made that clear I guess... :)

On Wikipedia I read that Nitrogen is in there too...
I advice you to avoid using Wikipedia, most Universities avoid their students to use it because, anyone can edit the 'posts' or 'answers' of Wikipedia delivering the wrong information, in your case, Nitrogen is wrong.

One person can be wrong.... How come the 2nd as well? Nibz is there?

And I agree everyone can edit them.... But they do check then to make sure if some dumb has posted something wrong.... Carbon Monoxide is used in the blast furnace, it acts as reducing agent...

On person can be right as well. Try to see everything with different angles Captain. I have done many questions regarding Blast Furnace, I never saw Nitrogen anywhere.
They don't check it. Search for the University of Liverpool and go deep into their research of Wikipedia. Rest is up to you.

Can you post its link here? I mean the exact thing you are talking about? And yes your answer is correct too... Uncreated Carbon monoxide escapes too....

:) But every bit of it cannot be wrong... One just has to take care... As they mentioned "These issues should not deter you from using Wikipedia. Just weigh the limitations of Wikipedia — and, for that matter, reference works in general."
