There is January 2014 Exams But from 2015 there will be no AS exams! You will take all exams at once in A2, Just like we did in IGCSE.....

Update for international centres regarding Ofqual regulated A levels

On 23 January 2013, Michael Gove, Secretary of State for Education, set out his policy steer on A level reform with the introduction of new A level qualifications and changes to AS levels from September 2015.

The key changes announced are as follows:

• A levels will be linear and taken over two years. Students will now sit their exams at the end of the two-year course.

• AS levels will be retained but will become stand-alone qualifications, they will no longer count towards a full A level. Michael Gove stated that he would like AS levels to be ‘as intellectually demanding as an A level, covering half of the content of a full A level and delivered over one or two years.’ Centres can decide the length of the qualification (1 or 2 years) to suit their students.

• An advisory body created by the Russell Group, which represents a group of 24 leading UK universities, will provide Ofqual with advice on the content of A levels. It will focus on the subjects most commonly required for entry to leading universities.

• The new linear A levels are expected to be available for first teaching from September 2015 with first assessment in summer 2017. Please note that this is a change from the original date of September 2014.

I know it is better but the problem that my class will stay edexcel because we already started edexcel so the students that will be affected are the 10th grade students now ; next year cambridge

oh , well maybe edexcel people are going to make your exam easy ? just as a first trial

well our school co-ordinter just explained the changes she had a meeting with the british council 1 - no more janaury sessions starting from september 2013 so no january 2014 2- the exam system will become linear instead of modular which means if u want to resit a unit u sat for this year like physics unit 1 january 2013 u would have to resit the entire syllabus of unit 1 2 and 3 just like o level paper 1 2 and 3 all the book material divided on papers such as multiple choice and long answer questions just like cambridge AS and A2 and if u are satisfied with ur as result u would continue A2 but sit all the A2 Modules as 1 Modules in A2 idk how exactly this will occur she said she will explain more after she get detailed answers next week :/
