ok hi every1..i've completed my o levels n AS from abroad ... now im moving to pak for my A2 and will continue dere...i never took pakstds or islamiat but now im appearing in oct nov or odawise my equivalence wont me made...so wat i want to ask is dat the last tym i studied paksts waz in my 8th grd n now i just have 2 months to study for both the subjects ..are they enough? will i be able do it ?? :S :S :S :%)

Pakistan Studies and Islamiat sure are extensive subjects. They require thorough study and memorisation of important events, ahadith, ayat etc. I don't mean to discourage you but covering a course that schools normally allocate 2 years to in 2 months will be difficult. Give it your best shot! Good luck!

For Islamiat:
1. Farkhanda Noor Muhammad's book. In this book, you will find all the Surahs and Ahadith whose main teachings and distinctive features are asked for in the first question of paper 1 and 2, respectively. It is normally used as THE main book but the choice of selecting which should be your main study book and which of them should be simply used for reference is yours!
2. 'O'level Islamiyat for Cambridge Examinations' by Dr. Iftikhar ul Haq and Maulvi Jahangir Mahmud.
3. 'Islamiyat - A core text for O'level' by Dr. Dacid Thomas and Dr. Mustafa Draper.
For Pakistan Studies:
1. 'The Environment of Pakistan' by Huma Naz Sethi (for paper 2).
2. 'The History and Culture of Pakistan' by Nigel Kelly (for paper 1). I personally regard this book to be excellent and used it as my main book for History/paper 1
3. 'PAKISTAN - History, Culture and Government' by Nigel Smith (for paper 1): has excellent points for the topic 'Relations of Pakistan with other States'.

First of all, download the syllabi for Pakistan Studies and Islamiyat. Just stick to the syllabus and do NOT go through anything in the books which is not in the syllabus as it will only waste your precious time. After completing your course, practice a few recent past papers to get an idea of what sort of questions you can expect in the examination.

well yeah the books are okay and which i used also so dont hesitate now and start off i wud stay u start off by history and ISL and then as soon as Hist finishes start its PP one year a day and side by side do GEO and ISL and do PP of them as soon as u finish i did this same thing.if u can just study a whole 6 or 7 hrs a day its pretty much more then possible but u will have to sit for 3 hrs solid at once time and then a break then again sit and then take a small break and then in the night part do some hadith,SURAH or some revision and make timetable first its best .

I will advice u not to because pak-studies has a lot of learning and this will hinder your A2 Studies !! I say go for Pak-studies and Islamiat this Oct/Nov and then prepare for your A2kanz123 said:

and what should i start with in islamiat ? lyk with the surahs and hadiths or with the biography of mohammad (s a w) n importnce of quran ,islamic community etc ??
