Can someone briefly explain that part of the syllabus targeting energy sources....?
like this quesiton on may/june 08:

2(a) Name the process by which energy is released form the sun.
and part (b) Describe how energy from the sun becomes stored energy in water behind a dam.

Thanks in advance. =)

Nucleur fusion is how the energy from the sun comes to earth but be careful, If it asks for form, then light.

You must explain the hydroelectric, that energy from the sun is stored as chemical energy in water, Water then moves down a dam, filling the turbines etc..

NP :)

Actually,
With the confirmation of my teacher.
Basically say that energy is released from fusion in the Sun, which hits the water as rays of light. This then causes an increase in their temperature and thus kinetic energy.
Alternatively, you could describe the change from potential energy when it rains.

so (continuation of xIshtar)
p.e. is stores in the rain and condense in the dam so the water have p.e.
and when it is let loose a little , it rush down the hill and hit the turbine causing the turbine to move which produces electric energy :D

hope it helped :D
