I was solving in the past papers and i met a question i didnt know its answer and i didnt find the marking scheme any where in june 2000 no 13 paper 1
it said which dam shows the best shape for a dm wall?
a) was a normal straight dam, had a fixed width
b) was a width decreasing dam as u go down with water
c)same as b but it was very thick at the top
d) and i think it is the answer, was aincreasing width dam as u go near the bottom beside the water

plz i need help cuz i need to study ( i know that my question is knnda stupid)

The Answer for this Question must be D because:
In terms of pressure, the pressure increase gradually as you go down, so it needs a thick base and getting smaller as you go up.
