i need some help...
Q1)Why does moon not fall and hit the earth?
Q2) By considering the acceleration of free fall at the Earth's surface , show that the magnitude of the Moon's acceleration is consistent with Newton's inverse square law of gravitation. (Radius of earth=6.36x10^6)
My answer to Q1: Moon's speed is constant , which means it continues to orbit the earth in a fixed orbit. The velocity is said to be changing due to change in direction and so the moon is accelerating but not falling toward the earth.
