Can anyone please tell/show me how the angle of deviation of a prism is found out?

I think it is the angle by which the ray of light deviates from it's initial path into the prism when compared with the emergent ray (the ray coming out of the prism) ..Let me check up on it :p

Did you find a question related to this? Its a pretty complex procedure to find out the angle of deviation in a prism. I don't think you require to find it out at the Ordinary level.

The only question that can come on this topic is a 'Simple MCQ' or just an easy ATP question. That's it!

I'm ignoring the formula though.
Secondly, are we supposed to have knowledge on the detection and generation of each type of electromagnetic wave (radiowaves, gamma rays, etc, etc)?

Haan, you must know some of their properties ( Like they all travel at the same speed in vacuum but slow down in other medium etc) and the the electromagnetic Spectrum ( in it's correct order)
I think, this much would suffice!

just the properties and the order of wavelength and frequencies!

There are great Text books to follow the O-level Physics from.
I my self preferred the works of Stephen Pople

2. Complete Physics : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Complete-Physics-IGCSE-International-Examinations/dp/0199151334

Both Oxford and Cambridge O-level students can use the book. but i think there is a chapter about space in the book which is no more to be found in the CIE Syllabus (Code :5054)
The Two books above were authored by Stephen pople and there are many similarities between the books. My personal Favorite is the "Explaining Physics" . I used it during my O-levels and even today i use it for Tuitions!

Apart from their orders of frequency and wavelength, you just need to know this:

discuss the role of the following components in the stated applications:
- radiowaves – radio and television communications,
- microwaves – satellite television and telephone,
- infra-red – household electrical appliances,television controllers and intruder alarms,
- light – optical fibres in medical uses and telephone,
- ultra-violet – sunbeds, fluorescent tubes and sterilisation,
- X-rays, hospital use and engineering applications,
- gamma rays and their use in medical treatment.
