(I)
the number of lines correspond with the number of possible transmission of enery levels. as the six transmission possible..
that is from
1.the top most energy level to the botom most energy level
2.top most energy level to the second last energy level
3. top most energy level to the second(or third last) energy level
4.second energy level to third energy level
5. second energy level to last energy level
6. third energy level to last energy level

(II)
the minimum wavelength is when there is maximum frequency ...and maximum frequency is when maximum energy transmission( delta E)

so the maximum energy transmission (delat E)= from top most to last energy level
= -0.87*10^-19 - (-5.44*10^-19)
= 4.57 *10^-19
finally E= hc/wavelength ...and u will get min wavelength

hope this helped..

absorption line spectrum correspond to the energy transmission when an atom from a lower energy level is promoted to a higher energy level by absorbing photons.....
emission line spectrum correspond to the energy transmission when an atom from a higher energy level returns to a lower energy level by emitting photons
this means the absorption line spectrum and emission line spectrum should be same for a fixed energy transmission but it is not same ....because the photons are emitted in al direction instead in a single direction when returning to lower energy level
therefore some lines present in absorption line spectrum are missing in emissision spectrum.
