Hi.

Can somebody please help me with the following:

1) How do you calculate the uncertainties?

2) How to calculate error bars?

3) Any details related to P5 Q2 will be highly appreciated, things like gradient of worst fit and best fit, stuff like that. Thanks.

Hi.

Can somebody please help me with the following:

1) How do you calculate the uncertainties?

2) How to calculate error bars?

3) Any details related to P5 Q2 will be highly appreciated, things like gradient of worst fit and best fit, stuff like that. Thanks.

1) To calculate uncertainties, you usually can get the maximum value and subtract it from your normal value. For example if a reading 'T' has value lg 7 and uncertainty 0.2 then first you calculate lg 7. Then you calculate lg 7.2. Subtract this value from lg 7 and this is your uncertainty for the new value.

2) Your uncertainties are your error bars. Just be careful and check whether your uncertainty is on the x or y axis.

3) Draw your best fit line, and then your worst fit. To draw the worst fit, connect your minimum error bar value to your maximum error bar value or vice versa. Calculate this gradient and subtract is from your best fit gradient to find the uncertainty in gradients.
