Assalam-o-alaikum! :)

well, when i solved the question, the only method i could get the answer was counting thr squares! I also was looking for an easier method!
draw a triangle or whatever...and count the squares left out...and then use this to calc. the area!!

Counting the squares seems too amateurish. Anyways, I believe that;s the only ways. The answer in the ms is quite exact and even if you divide the loop into several trapeziums or triangles, you can't come close to the answer.
