I need help with question no. 5(a)(ii) from M/J 2010 variant 42. I think the answer is 12V but mark scheme says its 9V. Can someone please explain.

its 9 cuz p.d across single capacitor is 6V and across parallel it is halved thus 3 V the sum is hence 9V
across parallel add pd like u do with resistance (1/6 + 1/6) = 1/V hence 3V!
