Dead space is basically the extra space under the protractor etc when measuring.

So, if you had to measure, for example as in Paper 6 O/N 05 1c)

Υοu ταpe it to the SiDe of the Desκ.

may jun 2002 question 1 a , in the mark scheme they say to use it

and in the same year 2 a should we draw the voltmeter around the bulb or the power supply ? how would we know
