Assalamu alaikum
Since many of us are having probs in phy ppr-5 i hv made dis thread so v can disscuss it out all here.............dis thread mainly aims at posting solved phy past ppr.......mainly qs 1.......
plz lets help each odr out wid....evn if u hv any pointers or notes plz post it out here..

dependent variable- wind speed
independent variable- anlgle
control variable- size of d ballon, amt. of helium present, temp. of the helium gas in d ballon

procedure
  1. tie d hot air balloon wid a piece of string wound to a nail wich i s fixed to d ground
  2. place a fan ensuring dt d air faces perpendicular on the hot air balloon, th e ballon will hence deviate making an angle with the horizontal. measure d horizontal and vertical distance wid the meter rule
  3. place an anaemometer juz bfor d hot air balloon so dt wind speed can b recorded
  4. ensure dt d scale placed vertically does nt gv rise to parallox error by using a set square
  5. a variable power supply connected 2 d fan can b used 2 change d wind speed
  6. attach a constant mass to maintain a constant inclination of the balloon
measurements 2 b taken
  1. measure d wind speed calibrated using anamometer calibrated in d units m/s
  2. measure d vertical distance using d meter scale and record it as '0'
  3. measure d horizontal distance using d meter scale and record it as 'h'
safety precautions
  1. the pressure of d balloon must maintained such dt d balloon does nt burst
  2. wear safety goggles 2 avoid the air hitting d eye ball

  1. horizontal surface shud b checked wid a spirit level
  2. temp of d balloon shud b constant check using thermometer
  3. keep windows door shut
  4. wait fr d ballon 2 become stable
