Physics question , plz help answering this

The primary scales reads to the nearest half millimeter and the secondary scale reads to the nearest 2 decimal places. so you should read the primary in millimeters like this 2.5 and the distance between 2.5 and 3 is conveyed in the secondary meter. Which reads 23. or 0.23 millimeter. adding them gets you 2.73. Just do it like this , read the first meter to the closest mark and then read what's on the second and remember it's in decimal places.
