Sign for reversible reactions: <--->
The Haber Process:
N2 + 3H2 <---> 2NH3
450 degrees Celsius and 200 atm pressure with iron catalyst.
The Contact Process:
1) S2 + 2O2 ----> 2SO2
2) 2SO2 + O2 <---> 2SO3 (450 degrees Celsius, 2-3 atm pressure and Vanadium Pentoxide catalyst aka Vanadium (V) oxide)
3) SO3 + H2SO4 ---> H2S2O7
4) H2S2O7 + H2O ---> 2H2SO4
Extraction of Aluminium:
At cathode: Al(3+) + 3e ---> Al
At anode: 2O(2-) ---> O2 + 4e
The graphite anode reacts with the oxygen as such: C + O2 ---> CO2
Extraction of Iron:
1) C + O2 --> CO2
2) CO2 + C ---> CO
3) Fe2O3 + CO ---> 2Fe + 3CO2 (MOST IMPORTANT)
4) CaCO3 ---> CaO + CO2
5) CaO + SiO2 ---> CaSiO3 (calcium silicate/slag)
Rusting:
4Fe + 3O2 ---> 2Fe2O3
Catalytic Converter:
2CO + 2NO ---> 2CO2 + N2 (platinum catalyst)
Combustion of Organic Compounds:
Organic compound + oxygen ---> carbon dioxide + steam (complete combustion)
Organic compound + oxygen ---> carbon monoxide + steam (incomplete combustion)
Addition of Bromine to Alkenes:
C2H4 + Br2 ---> C2H2Br2
Basically, just add Br2 after the formula of the alkene.
Addition of Hydrogen to Alkenes (Hydrogenation) (Margarine manufacture):
C2H4 + H2 ---> C2H6 (Nickel catalyst)
That is, just add 2 to the number of hydrogen atoms in the molecule.
Addition of Steam to Alkenes (Hydration):
C2H4 + H2O <---> C2H5OH (3oo degrees Celsius and 65 atm pressure, Phosphoric acid catalyst)
(THIS IS A REVERSIBLE REACTION no matter what some books may say)
I know there are many others but those are all pretty basic. These are the ones that I think are the ones that cause the most confusion. Good luck with your exams. Pray for me, too.
No problem.First of all thanks brother for the help!
Secondly if u can review, i guess its C2H4Br2 in Bromination or halogenation process whatever it is !
It would be just S i think, S + O2 = SO2Sign for reversible reactions: <--->

yeah u r rightIt would be just S i think, S + O2 = SO2
No clue but i'm sure u made that mistake in ATP! right?Ok a stupid question what if i write potassuim dichromate IV instead of VI will i lose marks?

Yeah, that was another error. It was my first time typing all these equations on a computer so I messed up. I've rechecked them all and have added respiration, photosynthesis and fermentation, too.It would be just S i think, S + O2 = SO2
you did a great jobYeah, that was another error. It was my first time typing all these equations on a computer so I messed up. I've rechecked them all and have added respiration, photosynthesis and fermentation, too.
