Salam
I have a few questions chemistry practicals (Some would sound really stupid as I did my practice long time ago)
1-how do we distinguish between Al ions and Pb ions?
2-when they say (Do not heat any tube with a naked flame )wham am I supposed to do?
3-when using the litmus paper do I have to make it wet?
4-(the most stupid question) the boiling tube is the one which is slightly larger than the other tubes right?
please answer the questions seriously with no jokes
thanks.

I hate to bother you but I have a last question
When using acidified dichromate ions (for identifying alcohols for example) are the chromate ions already acidified or do I have do to add acid to it?

dichromate ions are orange and already acidified whereas chromate ions are yellow and not acidified

S07 p31 colourless gas is released (effervescent observed ) by the addition of acid. So it can be CO2 or SO2 (its co2) ,how am i suppose to know which one it is without carrying out a test or using least time possible?

Carbon dioxide is odorless, Sulfur dioxide has an irritating and pungent odor
