Hey people! Just a quick question about the bondings present in proteins. Can anyone tell me exactly which type of bonding (peptide, disulfide etc) is found in which part (primary, secondary) of a proteins structure?

Primary - held by covalent bonds, such as peptide bonds.

Secondary - Hydrogen bonding between the carboxyl group of one amino acid and the amine group of the amino acid four places ahead of it.

Tertiary - Hydrogen bonding between R groups. Disulfide bonds between two cysteine molecules. Ionic bonds between amine and carboxyl groups. Hydrophobic interactions between non-polar R groups.

Quaternary - Same as the tertiary structure.
