question....describe role rhizobium in root nodule.....3 marks....
well question is simple one.....but i cn only think of the following
rhizobium fixes atmospheric nitrogen to NH4+ which can later be converted to nitrates to manufacture amino acids.....
this is only 1 point ..how can i get full marks..after thinking more i am able to come up with this point that nitrogen N2 is inert and cnt be used by planTS To manufacture amino acids so rhizobium in a way makes useable nitrogen available to plant.......
nw tell me wat points i shud have written ....which points shud have been left out....or are they precise to this question....and how to anser questions in which u are able to think few points but marks are more........

u can say that Rhizobium bacteria fixes N2 to ammonium ions which is oxidised to nitrites by Nitrosomonas, which is further oxidised to nitrates by Nitrobacter..nitrates are then used to make amino acids which can be stores as protiens.
u can include abt mutualism provided by the leguminous plant.
well i know it asks abt the ROLES of rhizobium, but these are the only points we can say abt it :!:

hmm...i found some detail in our book which we dont usually care about but it offers good explanation:
rhizobium uses nitrogenase to combine nitrogen and hydrogen....ATP sis needed and also anaerobic conditions
helps legume plants to colonise nitrogen deficient soils........
