Well, I heard(and this is true for most of them) that usually we're required to quote the answer in same significant figures as the number with least significant figures in the data provided in the question. But sometimes in some questions mark scheme quotes weird number of significant figures(more significant figures than that of the least s.f of the data provided). Does anyone know then what's the general rule? I'm worried about this because there's always a mark reserved for Accuracy(A1).... If anyone knows about it, then please reply!

Thanks...

Remember to round non-exact answers to the accuracy stated on the front of the question paper – unless the question says otherwise. That means you need to use 4 or 5 figures in your working, if you use the answers to stages in your working. For money questions, you need to give the answers correct to 2 decimal places. For angles found from trigonometry, the answer is expected correct to 1 decimal place. In many questions, a range of answers is given credit, so that if you forget to round, you do not keep on losing marks.

As far as i know u r correct..do not bother about the marking scheme....u will be checked for the significant figure of ur answer..so write the asnwer to the same no of significant figure as that of the Question or u can also write the answer in one significant figure more than tat given in the question.
