Firstly its Conformed that A is on 85 and A* is from 95 !!
Secondly CIE results were totally unfair, mostly for Pak-studies !!

It means the rest of the grades are changed too?

There hasn't been a change, Captain. Just bear in mind that the UPM for an A* is 90% and above, that for A is 80% and above and so on. :)

assalamoalaikum!
what were ur grades?
Maths A*
Urdu A
Isl A
Pak-stds B (CAN NEVER EVER GET B, I WORKED SO HARD) :cry: :cry:

Not hard enough it seems! If it's any comfort , i also got a B in Pak Studies! So , dont get depressed over this. B isn't a bad grade. It might not be the best but it isn't the worst either. So work hard , now. If anything good came of this , it is that now you know the standard of answers that CIE demands. Be Positive! Good Luck!

I'm sure that the 90th percentile and above corresponds to grade A*, the 80th and above grade A, 70th and above grade B and so forth according to CIE standards.

"The process of grading in Cambridge O Level involves deciding the minimum mark necessary for each grade. We do not have predetermined thresholds (or quotas of candidates). After each examination series we decide the minimum marks for each threshold (grade boundaries) for each individual component. We carry out this process in order to ensure that the demands on the candidates are the same for every subject and every examination series. We are therefore unable to provide a general list of percentages required for each grade."

I came across this document, which is quite relevant to what we were discussing. :)
Plus it supports this: :p

NO, A is not from 85. ive got cousins abroad and one got an A directly on 80 percentile. then how can an A be from 85?

This has been written in the CIE statement and if you still have confusion then download the syllabus and at the end see what grade is at what percentage.
A* = 90 above
A = 80 above
B = 70 above
C = 60 above
D = 50 above
E = 40 above
U is ungraded
Hope this clears up the confusion.
I don't think there is anymore room for discussion left regarding CIE grading.
