Guys I'm in AS and I currently have Physics, Maths, Chem, Biology (Bio is out of idk interest).
I had 7A*s 2As in O levels and had Add maths too.

I want to know if I take Further maths now, at this point in AS (Dec 2014) will I be able to do it and get a good grade? I dream of getting a scholarship abroad, US InshaAllah. (MIT = Dream). I'll be giving SATs next year too iA.

And if yes let me know the books i need for this.
And one more thing, I will have to do Further Maths almost on my own and appear privately so please let me know if this is a good idea.
Help or guidance in any form will be highly appreciated :)

Taking Further Maths at this point is probably not a good idea.
Plus, having the normal Maths won't really hurt your chances at admission, so you should stick to what you have.
BTW I want to go to MIT too :D (Chemical-Biological Engineering; research all the way!)

Depends on how you find your Maths to be.
If you are struggling in P3 then don't take FM.
But if you find it interesting then just join me and do it :)
There's no AS for Further Maths. So you should try finishing your Maths modules (P1, P3, Whatever applied module you take) before AS then work on your Further Maths.
Foe coursebooks just find good ones in the library.
Although 'A Concise Course in Advanced Level Statistics' by Crawshaw and Chambers covers Paper 2 Statistics pretty well.
