Density is mass per unit volume. That means density is inversely proportional to the volume.
As water boils, its volume increases as it occupies more space. Thereby, the density decreases.
Yes it doesI just wanted to confirm that during boiling does volume increase???
Temperature and density both remain constant. Temperature will stay constant as heat taken in is utilized to break the existing bonds between particles. The question is about the density of water as it boils not steam. The density of water thus remains constant because during boiling the mass of water decreases (as it is turned into steam) and the volume of water also decreases (as the question is about volume of "WATER" which also decrease) . So the density and temperature of water remain constant. What is happening to the temperature and to the density of water while it is boiling ?
