THE CIRCUMFRENCE OF THE BASE OF A 10M HIGH CONICAL TENT IS 44M.
CALCULATE THE LENGTH OF THE CANVAS USED IN MAKING THE TENT, IF WIDTH OF CANVAS IS 2M. {USE 22/7}

first of all we would find the radius of the cone
that can be calculated by using the formula 2(pi)r since circumfrence is given

2(pi)r = 44
2 x 22/7 x r = 44
r = 7 m

Now next step would be to calculate the slant height of the cone
that can be calculated by using "pythagoras theorem"
l^2 = 10^2 + 7 ^2
l = 12.2 m

now we would calculate the curved surface area of the Cone
the formula is (pi)r x l where l is the slant height
area =22/7 x 7 x 12.2
area =268.4 m^2

Now the total area of canvas is 268.4 m^2

SO

168.4= L x w
268.4= L x 2
Length = 134.2 m
