Don't skim the text. When there's a single passage with Q/A, read the ENTIRE passage properly, understand it, make very brief notes on the side of the paragraphs and then answer the questions. This is what I do and I feel it's much better. You should be able to answer the questions quickly.

    Chemistry: Post your doubts here!

Quick question: In Electrochemistry (A2), if both of the reactions have negative electrode potential values, which one goes forward? The most negative or least negative?

Preparing for the SAT Reasoning Test

It's very much dependent on vocabulary, something you build up over time as a result of reading newspapers, books, reviews, etc. At this point I can't really suggest much. Learn as many words as you can, do several practice questions and learn from your mistakes. Learn the basic grammar rules...

I am stuck at these Math questions.Help!!

    Q1) Use the sum to infinity formula. S = a/1-r where a = first term and r = common ratio Like in the first case, a = 1 and r = (1/2)/1 = 1/2. S = 1/ [1-(1/2)] = 2 Q2) Just solve them simulatenously, like: a) y = 2x-12 x^2 + 4xy - 3y^2 = -27 In Place y from (1) into (2) x^2 + 4x(2x-12) -...

Just Google them. www.majortests.com has some nice SAT questions.

    Need some help/suggestion :)

Sure. Will pray for you. :) And the hardest part of the SAT I is probably the critical reading section.. your vocabulary has to be reallygood for that. And yes, the Math section questions are like the ones you do in class 4 to class 10. :P Give yourself like 3 months to prepare. And from right...

How many subjects are to be taken to complete A Level?

I still recommend you give 3 though. I mean if you want to get into a good university then will require at least 3 subjects.

Nov 3. I'm using the Blue Book and Princeton Review. There's also some SAT tests online like ones on www.majortests.com. For comprehension there's many methods.. better we discuss those in the forum topic. Also, for any questions you don't get you can post them in the same SAT topic... I'll try...

    Need some help/suggestion :)

No I meant give your AS in the first year and A2 in your second year like normal. But if you don't think you can give the SAT in January, you can give it in May, June or October as well. Whatever you feel comfortable with. SAT II is something I'll strongly recommend for November. You cover for...

    Need some help/suggestion :)

..it won't be a burden on you. It shouldn't be at least. That's why I suggested you to take the first SAT I in January. You're usually done with mid-terms by December and don't have CIEs until May/June. That's a big gap. If you start studying "casually" from after your O-levels end till...

    Mathematics: Post your doubts here!

Gradient of AB = 2 Since gradient of AB = 2m (given), 2m = 2 m = 1 (ii) C is a point of intersection between AC and BC, so the first thing that should occur to you is obtaining and then solving simultaneous equations. Gradient of AC = -2m = -2(1) = -2 Now with the gradient of AC and...

    Need some help/suggestion :)

Well after doing O-levels, do your A-levels like normal (I recommend going to some nice college) and give SAT I in January of your first year. Then give it again in October in your 2nd year. The reason I'm suggesting you to give it twice is because most people don't do too well on their first...

How many subjects are to be taken to complete A Level?

Why do you want to take only 2? What are you planning to do after A levels? Most universities require at least 3 A-levels. If you don't intend to apply to some university, then you can go ahead with only 2. In any case though, I recommend doing 3 or 4 A levels.

    Percentage?

It's a Pakistan-only thing I think, but I don't remember why exactly. June 2010 was the last time they handed out percentages here (for O-level and A-level). Annoying, I know. But there's nothing we can do. :|

    Please anyone mark my essay

The vocabulary used is great - much better than what the standard O-level student would use. But yeah, as people have already mentioned the overuse of the word 'I' and bad paragraph structuring are obvious issues with the essay. There are other minor nitpicks I can think of too. For example...

Where you watch online movies or t.v shows?

I don't watch T.V shows or movies much. Just interesting movies, the occasional football/cricket match and documentaries. YouTube is usually good enough for me, but there's sites like sidereel which are good for T.V shows and stuff like that.

Tips for ace-ing AS level Physics practical

Things which carry the most marks: - The limitations/suggestions. They're worth a whopping 20% of the entire practical paper. One set of answers is always "there's only 2 readings which aren't enough, etc", but others will require some thinking. While doing the experiment, consider the...

Is there any advantage in taking English General Paper for AS?

Most universities don't care about GP. However it's really good for improving your general knowledge. It'll prove to be useful later down the road (if you're giving the SAT, wanting to participate in MUNs, seeking knowledge in general, etc). You can choose to not give the CIE examination but...
