    23.a.ii. He's paid $16 per hour. He's paid 20% more during each hour in the weekend. 120% of 16 = $19.2 per hour (16 X 1.2). He worked 4 hours in the weekend, so multiply the pay per hour by 4 hours (19.2 X 4) to get $76.8. Hope that helps a bit at least :)

    20b. Multiply each frequency but the mid-point of the inequality above it. 5 X 10 = 50 20 X 30 = 600 10 X 50 = 500 5 X 70 = 350 Total = 1500 Now add up the frequencies: 5 + 20 + 10 + 5 = 40 Divide: 1500 / 40 = 37.5

    11. We need to find The hypotenuse of the right triangle at the left. We know that the adjacent side must be 14 because 35 - 21 = 14. To find AD or the hypotenuse of this triangle, we need to use trigonometry. We only have one side which we figured out here. However, the ratios are given in the...

    Question 9: The line at the top is horizontal at x=3, so that is the equation for it. For the other line, find the rise over the run for two points on the line, e.g. two points -2 / 1, which equals to -2. So it's equation must be y = -2x (no variable for 'c' because it intercepts the y-axis at...

    I answered 7b in your other thread. Here's question 8: y = kx^2 2 = k4^2 2 = 16k k = 2/16 = 0.125 Substitute 10 for x and 0.125 for the constant 'k': y = 0.125 X x^2 y = 100 X 0.125 y = 12.5

    4b. -6 <= x < 6 Separate the inequality into 2 parts and then solve: -6 <= 3x -2 <= x 3x < 6 x < 2 So now join them together to get: -2 <= x < 2, so x has to be one of the following: -2, -1, -, 1.

    math may/june 2012 paper 1 question about ratios

    The ratio of boys to girls is 3:4. There are 120 more girls than boys. This means that 1 part must equal to 120, since the difference between 4 and 3 is 120. So since 1 part is 120, multiply 120 by 3 and then multiply 120 by 4, and add the products of those two to get 840.
