    Giving IELTS is much easier than the hassle English Language puts you through. I think giving GP also bypasses the IELTS requirement. Much easier + maintenance free subject IMO.

    CIE examiners do not handle the papers beyond the first step. The papers are scanned and then sent to the examiners. During this process, unless you tied it up like a jack, there's no way the sheet is getting away. So, safe to assume the sheet is going no where.

    To the OP, Yes! Absolutely. If you have the aptitude for it, go for it. Ain't no rocket science + the syllabus, at O Levels, isn't tough at all.
