    Chemistry: Post your doubts here!

i just answered the first one right now : Q4- 1st write the combustion equations of all the alkanes. Then calculate how much volume of O2 is needed and how much is remaining. then add the volume of CO2 produced. For example CH4+2O2-->CO2+2H2O 10cm3 of alkane was used so we take that as 1 mole. 2...

    Chemistry: Post your doubts here!

Q14- Use the Ar of each elements. Then calculate the mole ratio. For example- Mg(NO3)2 is 5g and 3.29 is lost meaning MgO is 1.71g. moles of Mg(NO3)2= 5/148=0.034 moles. then moles of MgO= 1.71/40=0.043moles. mole ratio should be 1:1 so its not magnesium. try it with calcium and u get it :) Q25-...

    Physics: Post your doubts here!

the answer is A. This is beacuse pressure=hdg. so h=p/dg. pressure will now be 10% of atmospheric pressure. so (10/100)of atmospheric pressure. this gives atmospheric P/10 hence p/10dg :)

A level Biology: Post your doubts here!

    Q2- find the mean of both. before coffee=0.1725 after coffee=0.1525 subtracting them u get 0.02. then 0.02/0.1725*100 u get 11.59 thats almost 12% :)

they didnt mention it but its always supposed to be going downwards :)

direction of movement is downwards so lighter ones moved most down. 0.66 is 2sf and 2dp.

Chemistry and Physics AS paper 12 MCQS

    Q40 - For A 1/1 gives 1 ratio. B is 4/2 giving 2 ratio. C is 7/3 =2.3 and D is 9/4=2.25. C has highest ratio :)

Chemistry and Physics AS paper 12 MCQS

Q36- find I first. V=IR. I=V/R . R will be 2+4=6ohm and V = 3 so I=0.5A. Then find V across the resistor using the same equation. V=0.5*4=2V. Then power=Vsquare/R=4/4=1W :) Q40- Find ratio of mass to atomic mass. Li has greatest ratio. Hence it has lowest speed. :)

Chemistry and Physics AS paper 12 MCQS

yeah take it as 1 mole because they gave us the density of the whole crystal and not just for 1 atom :P for Q24 find the area of a small block. That will be 1N*(0.5*10^-3). So area of one small block will be 0.0005. Then count the number of blocks in the given region and multiply it by 0.0005 :)

hahah no problem! im done with AS anyway so u sort of helped me revise :D

okay so d=1/N right? so N is 300 lines per mm i gues so convert it to m u get 300000. then d=1/300000. then divide that by 450*10^-9 and ul get 7.4 or something. multiply it by 2 and u get 14.8 :P

P1 MCQ's preparation thread for chemistry ONLY!!!!

Q8- D is most suitable because its directly proportional. B and C hav PV so its not applied there i guess. And in A i think it should be a curve downwards not straight line!
