    c3 trig

    that means (1 + sin2x)^1/2 so f '(x) =1/2(1 + sin2x) x 2cos2x = cos2x(1 + sin2x) so dy/dx wouldbe cos2x(1 + sin2x)/(sqrt(1 + sin2x)) ???? Mhmm.. Idk that's what i would do.!

I haven't done it sorry! I will be doing it tomorrow morning inshallah so ill let you know :)

    c3 trig

Mhmm those qs are kinda long so my biggest tip would be to take it step by step. Be careful if they're asking for tangent or normal. Then you first have to find dy/dx to find 'm' of the tangent. Once you get that look for a point (a,b). If it parametric eqns use your t to find both coords...

    c3 trig

    2cos2x/(1 + sin2x) If they ask you to diff ln|f(x)| then dy/dx = f '(x)/f(x) :)

The markscheme does use y = 5 - 2.5x !!! What i couldnt figure out initially was how they got 5 - 2.5x, but they got it by getting an equation of that line! :) :)

Hahaah yeah guys that question is ugly... I understood it though.. after interpreting the markscheme.... You have to get a separate equation for the two liney bits, and then replace the y value in them Ok you know what, dont listen to me... you guys look at it and figure it out with your...

Nope, for |f(x)| its reflection in the x-axis For f(|x|) its reflection in the y axis But they still work a little differently

    C34 Math IAL 16/6 June 2014

No no no okay listen... When you have to plot f(|x|), You delete the parts on the left side of the y axis, and then you reflect whats on the right side of the y axis in the y axis... Okay listen, if you have the Keith Pledger C3 book, go to p. 82 and look at point 3

Okay I know why You need to go back to your CAST diagram In the ALL quadrant you'll have your related angle i.e. your first solution But if you think about it, everytime you solve for theta, you look at the other quadrant its in as well right? Because tan is positive its gonna be in the...
