    Chemistry: Post your doubts here!

    First things first, Δ Hc = ΔHr - ΔHp (Since it specifies he used combustion values) Formation of Ethane: 2C + 3H2 -> C2H6 Combustion of Ethane: C2H6 + 7/2O2 -> 2CO2 + 3H2O (-1560 kJ/mol) Combustion of Hydrogen: H2 + 1/2O2 -> H2O (-286 kJ/mol) Combustion of Carbon: C + O2 -> CO2 ( x...

    The answer should be B. D is showing the overlap of four orbitals, and is hence showing a square-planer arrangement. (Hint hint: XeF4). We all know that XeF4 contains 4 sigma bonds, regardless of what the diagram is showing. Hence, D is not the correct answer, rather a smartly made confusing...

    hey everyone! WHICH IS MORE INTERESTING ECONOMICS OR ACCOUNTING?

    Subjective question! However, between the two, from my experience during my O's (comparable to iGCSE), I'd say Econ is much more fun if you have the aptitude for it! A levels is a whole new ball game, though.

    I use Roger Norris. Very nice book. Although, I'll suggest you don't use it yet. www.chemguide.co.uk It has every topic very nicely covered. In fact, I use this to understand whatever I get stuck up at. Also, I'll suggest you use these holidays to do other things instead of studying for...

    Guide and Tips-O Levels

    If you consider the ones which you can do practically in the 6 months you'll have, Commerce, EM and Computers. These three will not take more than one month combined if you ask me! If I were you, I'd take Sociology up there aswell. It's a super easy course, loads of general stuff and shitloads...

    The (much needed) EM Thread.

    Just a suggestion, try uploading them all at once aswell (in one file, or piece by piece) using mediafire or as one file merged on scribd. Would help a lot of people!

    Tips to get A* in A'levels

    P1 has roughly the same weightage as P3 and P5 o_O That said, it's a weighed score, therefore you need to do well on all papers to get a cumulative A. Doing excellent on one paper and doing horrible on the other would drastically change your grade regardless of how many marks you get in total.

    I simply use the formulae for MCQs. I personally don't make the whole Hess Diagram. You can, if you're comfortable that way and think you'll make a mistake using the formulae. i.e : ΔHc = ΣΔHr - ΣΔHp ΔHf = ΣΔHp - ΣΔHr The way I remember these is using the word CRAP. CRAP == Cr-p And for...

    2-x : x/2 : x In essence, it's a pretty simple question if you ask me. People tend to get confused seeing variables instead of constants. Anyhow. There are two approaches to this. One is quicker but much more confusing. If you want, let me know and I'll enlist that too. If not, simply...

    Guide and Tips-O Levels

    What year of O Levels are you in? Yes. They do. You can try at SOS Village, Care, Akhuwat, Rabtt etc. You have to apply beforehand, though. I don't know the scene in your locality though. I'm not sure. I'd have to look that up. I despise art so I stay far, far from Art. And yeah. You do. Not...

    I studied it coming out of my Add Math exam. Used an excellent student of a friend's notes. I'll do that soon. A couple of days perhaps. It's not a hard subject. Don't worry.

    Smallest division of the equipment / value obtained Worse fit line? I'm sure you meant best fit. Best fit refers to a line which touches at least two points on the line, and the rest evenly scattered. Say you had 8 plotted 8 points. 3 were on the line. 3 slightly above the line, 2 slightly...
