    Basically, it's exactly the same, except the masses add the tension, by the cord being stretched over a pulley, rather than clamping ^^ Don't worry :p

    Eh, you're completely right about the one mark think, I mean the multiple choice part counts for 12.5% And if we get a big 12 mark planning question that's 30% of our whole paper! So yeah, one mark can make all the difference in this case :P

    Then what do we do? Just the way you want to do it I guess, if they are giving us mixed messages, they can't expect everyone to do it the same way.

    We were told the examiners prefer it differently, my teacher went to a seminar or something, and told us that they wanted us to do it the way I showed.

    For uncertainty, this is the way I was taught. If you have 3 values, for example: 14.7, 14.9, 15.1 To find the mean, it is (14.7 + 14.9 + 15.1)/3 = 14.9 Now to find the uncertainty, it's the highest - mean and then the mean - the lowest added together and divided by 2. So, 15.1 - 14.9 =...

    Yeah I hope so too. The only one I know for sure that I got wrong was the last part of the Hess Cycle.. I forgot to multiply by 2.. :( Oh well, good luck to everyone in their other papers :)

    I wrote for the first part, the apparent mass of water released would be lower, and thus x would be lower. For the second one I wrote that the apparent mass of water released would be greater and x would be greater. I got 2.2 for x and like 0.28 ish % for the percentage error.
