    Well when I gave my Islamiat exam last year, I memorised a TON of quotations. So its best you memorise about atleast one quotation for each answer. And your quotations must be EXACT because you cannot indirectly explain it. Do this, remember the quotation, no need to memorise the verse number...

    Own words are only credited in the 'own words' questions. Otherwise, it doesn't make a difference if you use own words or not. In questions that do not require own words, just avoid using them as you will make less mistakes.
