    Chemistry 9701/P22

What did you guys write for that question that asked why CCl2F2 reacts with ozone but CH3CH2F don't? I wrote that the C-Cl bond energy's lower than the C-F one but I'm pretty sure that's wrong.

    Chemistry 9701/P22

There were no units. There were an equal amount of molecules on both side of the equation. At least, that's what I think..

    Chemistry 9701/P22

Yeah, it was okay. I made stupid mistakes though! And I got 0.44 for Kc, but I rushed it so I have no idea whether it's right or not. CO2 is the second most abundant greenhouse gas, right?

    KMnO^4 and ALKENE????? =)

The C=C bond in the alkene is broken completely. The -OH groups in the diol formed initially (when oxidised cold KMnO4) are further oxidised to ketones, aldehydes, carboxylic acids or carbon dioxide gas. The actual product depends on what is bonded to the carbon atoms involved in the C=C bond...

    infectious disease....

The main factor is wherever the Anopholes mosquito can be found, since it's the vector for malaria. It's found mainly in the tropics and sub-tropics (Plasmodium needs temperatures of higher than 20C to reproduce). But the disease can spread to other parts of the world when infected people travel...

    infectious disease....

It restricts the choroplasts to a layer near the outside of the cell where light can reach them most easily. Although this is from the A2 part of the syllabus, so I'm not completely sure..

How did Chem Paper 33 went???

Yeah, we had to add water to it after. But I think that's because it was getting all fumey and stuff, I'm not sure. What kind of reaction was it anyway? I said it was oxidation. :s

    chemistry p3 help

No, I don't think you need the concurrent reading column. I haven't read anything about it in the mark schemes nor have I been told about it in school. The first four columns are right, though. You don't need the last column.

    XSO4.7H2O

First of all you need the mass of FA1. In the first table you have the mass of the empty test tube and the mass of the test tube + FA1. All you do is subtract the values 12.80 - 10.50 giving you 2.30g of FA1. In the second table you need the mass of FA1 after heating. Again, you just subtract...
