Maths, Addmaths and Statistics: Post your doubts here!

Re: O'level Maths, Addmaths and Statistics help available he The first part of question 8 can be solved by identity method. F(x) is a degree1(maximum power of x=1) expression while gf(x) is a degree 2 exuation. By recognition we can see that g(x) will be a quadratic expression of the form...

    HELP MEEEEE !!!!!

You will get a NO RESULT written on your statement of result and hence NO grade will appear on your final certificate. Your expected grade is not written in any case.

    calculator.!!

No. The only official statement from CIE is that graphical calculators are not allowed. Take both FX991Es and FX82MS with you. Nobody says anything if you have two calculators with you. Many candidates are precautious about having a second calculator incase the other one gets faulty. Are you...

    important note maths 9709

Sketches are supposed to be done on the answer sheet. If a question requires you to draw, then you draw on the graph sheet. Usually, the question mentions when you need to use a graph sheet otherwise the sketches are done on the answer sheet. I am not sure about the cutting of marks.

    calculator.!!

I didn't find anything on this topic that was different from this topic. I wrote FX991MS on my addmaths paper and got a freaking distinction. FX991MS is the same as FX991ES. I know another guy who used 991ES and got a distinction, too. You can solve the quadratic equations, you can solve the...

    A* Grades

@Respect1: Download the grade thresholds from the download section and you'll know the marks needed for a specific grade in every single paper of a subject, too.

    calculator.!!

It is NOT about luck. ES series is clearly allowed. If it wasn't CIE would have take strict action. Plus ES series is the same as MS series. So if ES disallowed the MS series should be disallowed. FX991MS and ES both can solve numerical differentiation and integration which is different from...

    calculator.!!

If ES series wouldn't have been allowed, some strict action would have been taken by the CIE to ban them from the examination halls. People have regularly used it in their final O'levels and A'levels exams and there has been no incident recorded regarding the calculator until now. Only graphical...

    Physics: Light

Did you find a question related to this? Its a pretty complex procedure to find out the angle of deviation in a prism. I don't think you require to find it out at the Ordinary level.

Maths, Addmaths and Statistics: Post your doubts here!

Re: O'level Maths, Addmaths and Statistics help available he Q4.b) Since its a regular hexagon AF=AB, hence, the side of the squares ABPQ and FARS are equal which makes the length of AQ and AR equal too. Which proves that it is atleast an isoceles triangle. Find QAR that is equal to...

    calculator.!!

ES series are not GRAPHICAL calculators. They are simple scientific calculators with a display that allows fraction to be written on the screen. MS and ES series are the same except for the display. There is no function missing in MS series that is in ES. ES is just easier to use. I used...

    Maths 9709

The Fx-991 ms and es both solve numerical integration and differentiation so it is allowed. I have used Fx-991ms and my friends have used Fx-991es in their mathematics papers. And we wrote the same model number on our papers. That never effected our results for sure. But to remain on the safe...

    Add maths

I think the marking scheme gives the perfect solution. To help you in solving this problem make 5 successive boxes. Since the first box can't have 0 we have to make a selection for the first number out of the 4 other possibilities which makes it 4C1=4. Then permute the rest of the boxes. We have...

HELP NEEDED FAST!! Problem with the Statement of Entry

Yes. It is. It doesn't matter, seriously. I have two different certificates, too. My brother had three which included two on behalf of his school and one private. It is perfectly normal.

So? If you didn't do anything, then you shouldn't be scared about it. Let them check and they will come to a conclusion that you did nothing wrong. :)

HELP NEEDED FAST!! Problem with the Statement of Entry

Yes it is normal. There is a separate statement of entry and a separate result card for every session you appear in. So there is no need for previous entry on the new statement of entry. You don't need to do anything. It is perfectly normal.
