I gave Addmaths in MJ 2011 as an extra subject. I prepared it in just 4 months and was fully prepared... i was expecting 95% above but i got an A :(... I sent the paper for a recheck! As for the syllabus.. Yes it is difficult, no doubt. But still nothing is tough! If you are well prepared, it is a piece of cake.. Quality time is what is needed!
Feel free to contact me for any enquiry :)

Add Maths isn't that tough but i wouldn't suggest what the previous commenter did "Study 4 Months and take the Exam"
If you have studied it in school then it's not going to be any problem for you
AAs for the Difficulty of the papers the past papers can fully convey that to you if after preparing you can solve them then INSHALLAH by the blessing of ALLAH you will be able to solve your exam paper too.

Add Maths is a tough subject. But that doesn't mean it is impossible to score an A*. All you have to do is make sure you did it all. The paper won't give simple questions that are provided in the book. It merges chapters and often you need to recall basic concepts you learned in math to solve a question. What i would recommend is to by these 2 books :
1. New Additional Mathematics by Ho Soo Thong and Khor Nyak Hiong
2. O level Additional Mathematics Classified by Web Publications.

The first is the best book to prepare you for Add Maths. It covers all the topics and provides ample exercises to make you ready for your exam. The second is a very helpful book. It classifies questions into different topics. As a bonus the book also has questions from very old past papers i.e 1960 onwards. So you would have a lot of practice. Hope this helped.

Agree, the 1st buk is really gud.. N in my opinion Add Maths is easy, all you need is a good teacher(or excellent self study skills..) and just time to practice, practice, practice.. inshaAllah certain A* or whatever....! but I do think you need a little bit of interest in maths for it to be easy for you..
