Thanks man...u have always been helpfulactually, the volume of alkali needed to neutralise an acid is the point where an acid (H+ ion) is in excess to when an alkali (OH- ion) is in excess. It is actually very difficult to exactly pour out the same number of OH- ions as there are H+ ions, so the little excess of OH- ions results in alkaline solution.
