CHEM UNIT 5 is BS, you see random questions and weird chemical structures.

Btw it isn't that BAD! In paper 5 u just have to go through all the organic chemistry u studied in AS n A2 unit 4! and first 2 chapters, Redox reactions and transition metals and their chemistry! so it isn't that boring or hard coz u have to just study 2-3 topic! Infact its better than other coz in other papers u have to study about 4-5 topics and alot of learning stuff but in unit 5 its 75% organic chemistry so, its kinda interesting ! ;) :D :p

Lol A-level Chemistry is not interesting, it's all about memorization. Unit 5 look easy in the book, but the Exam is BS.

I don't get this question either :/
Hydrocarbon + O2 = CO2 + H2O.
In this case carbon number of hydrocarbons = 4, so 4 moles of CO2 on right hand side. (H2O is liquid)
It says 20cm3 contracted, meaning the volume decreased by 20 cm3, so total volume = 40+20= 60
Volume of O2 is 60-10=50, so 5 moles O2
C4H4 + 5O2 = 4CO2 + 2H2O this balances, so answer is A

The mass of 1 mol of chromium(III) sulfate (Cr2(SO4)3) is 392 g. Hence, for the
cell in the diagram to measure the standard electrode potential, 1 dm3 of the
chromium(III) sulfate solution used must contain

A 104 g of chromium(III) sulfate.
B 196 g of chromium(III) sulfate.
C 392 g of chromium(III) sulfate.
D 784 g of chromium(III) sulfate.

why is the answer B?
