the rule is BODMAS (brackets, division, multiplication, addition, subtraction) it needs to be done in that order....if you solve this 1 = 8 - 12 + 4 - 1
then you either get -9 or even 1
how do we know which one to do!

n unless this is for C1, u can put the entire sum into ur calculator and it'll give u the right answer
the correct answer will be -1

well then it rearranges to 1-8+12-4 = C, which calculates to give..... +1
btw.... did u get the answer to what u asked? or was it sumthing else u wanted?

what if you do
1 = 8 - 12 + 4 - C
so C = 8 - 12 +4 -1
=8 - 16 -1
= -9
