help needed with this confusing math question!!

sumbody help me find the value of d...a b and c are simple
Answer are as follows!
a = 50 degrees
b = 90 degrees
c = 40 degrees
d = 40 degrees

From where did you get this question???? The straight lines intersecting each other makes 90° angle? in the upper trianlge? d, 40°, 90°? Or not? If you see the answers then its not...

as it isnt given in the question that they are perpendicular so we do not take that as 90 :!:

Can anyone else then explain it? Btw I have solved such questions other times as well.. I mean the right angle is not given there in them either... But you have to take that as 90°... By seeing the figure... I asked something? Question is from, ur friend gave you? Or kahan say mila?

Yeah Math angel u have to assume if these lines go like this in a perpendicular fashion see guys i think i may be wrong but u have to believe that the two lines diagnols intersect each other and make an angle of 90 so then only we can have .
a=50 by 90-40=50
b=90 only when the line on which 40*,angle a and angle b lie is straight that is 180 degrees.so,180-50-40=90
c=40 only when b is taken as 90 by previous calculations 90+50=140... 180-40=40*
d=50 ( answer wrong i guess thanks for pointing mistake) if u believe that line horizontal and vertical are perpendicular. so again 90+40=130.. 180-130=50*
Hope im correct u have to assume this i think that this is 90* or u can even solve by this parrallel lines method explained in websites given below.

@scouserlfc: how did you get 50 degree angle for sum of angles in part (d)?

For me d= 50°too... And yeah scouserlfc I don't get that either....? THIS---> "so again 90+50=140.. 180-140=40* "

It's a messed up question. Just put in d=40­­° and you'll get the system fine too and then put d=50° and then again it doesn't go wrong. @Maths_angel: You've missed a critical detail in this question that is not here. Check it out, because I am sure it can't be solved like this. Or it has two answers.

I can be 40 and it can be 50. The problem is that you can't take out an answer because you can't assume the lines to be perpendicular to each other unless you have further details.
